I have taught numerous courses at the University of Canterbury since I began teaching in 2007, during my MSc. Since 2009 I have been a regular contributor to FRONTIERS ABROAD, an organisation hosted at the University of Canterbury that provides a combined field camp and semester abroad program for geo- and environmental science majors from colleges in the United States. In addition to the field camp (I have led the Castle Hill field mapping in Narnia country every year), the students also undertake research projects under the guidance of staff. Post-PhD I spent a very enjoyable 18 months teaching structural geology and geohazards at 2nd-4th year levels.
I thoroughly recommend the University of Canterbury for anybody interested in structural geology, geohazards and active tectonics (my preferences), as well as volcanology and geothermal, or engineering geology.
